The Scuderia Montepellegrino asd and the Associazione Siracusana Automotoveicoli Storici Federated ASI jointly whit the Motor Village FCA Palermo organize the international motorsport event “Monte Pellegrino Historics” from April 30 to May 3.

This international event, created to remember the last race of the career of the famous Mantuan driver Tazio Nuvolari, who was exactly the Palermo-Monte Pellegrino hillclimb in 1950, today, arrived at its third year, sees from several years together in Sicily cars race of considerable sports and historical importance coming from various parts of the world. The formula chosen is that of the concours of elegance dynamic for racing cars or sports cars of historical interest that have become protagonists in motorsport, built from the origins until the year 1976. The vehicles built after this period will be taken into account and admitted only if they’ve got high historical and collectible value. The vehicles will be allowed at the unquestionable judgment of the Organizing Committee.

The cars will be awarded for their historical value or for the level of their restoration or conservation by a jury of experts. The participants will thus be able to drive their own cars along the route of the “Salita del Monte Pellegrino”, the world’s oldest “Hillclimb” created in 1908 by Vincenzo Florio, and along the Circuito del Real Parco della Favorita, where the Targa Florio was held from 1937 to 1940, and both tests will be performed with road closed to traffic. From this year also the Autodromo di Pergusa will be protagonist, the historical circuit built around the homonymous lake, home in the 60s and 80s of the last century of Formula 1 races, of the European Championship Formula 2 and Formula 3, of World Championship Sports Car and of the European Championship Sport 2000 and Tourism. 

The event of 2015 will be dedicated to the champion Sandro Munari and to the Lancia. There will be the Fulvia “barchetta” F&M with which the Italian driver coupled with the Swedish driver Rauno Aaltonen took part in the Targa Florio of 1969,coming not absolute, and the Fulvia 1600 HF with which Sandro Munari and Mario Mannucci won the second Rallye International of Sicily of 1973: during the days of event the Venet champion will alternate at the wheel of these extraordinary cars. Alongside the Drago di Cavarzere will sit Ariella Mannucci, wife of unforgettable Mario, to rebuild a couple that has been a myth for all fans of Rally of the 70s.
